Jackets come first, ahead of knitwear and trousers: most of the items arrived with the fall season; the rest are pieces from earlier seasons that are still available. By number of arrivals, Carhartt WIP, Sebago and Chesapeake's lead; several brands, from Universal Works to Edwin, have renewed their entire range. In our Formia store we selected these lines for a man who looks for clothes to wear for a long time, not pieces for a single season: workwear and heritage, Japanese denim, Italian manufacture.

      Features and categories

New Arrivals is a page organized by date, not by garment type: it gathers jackets, knitwear, trousers, shoes, and accessories recently added to the catalog from various brands and traditions. To navigate the selection, start with what you wear.

      Outerwear and knitwear

Jackets, sweatshirts, and knitwear change with the weather and define the tone of the outfit: workwear, heritage, or Italian tailoring. Outerwear is selected first; knitwear and sweatshirts layer beneath the jacket or replace it on milder days. Material composition and sizing for each item are specified on the product page.

      Trousers, denim, and shirts

Trousers and denim form the foundation of the wardrobe: selected by fit (regular, loose, slim) and fabric. Shirts and t-shirts complete the inner layers. Japanese denim remains the hallmark of Edwin.

      Footwear and accessories

Footwear includes sneakers, loafers, and boots: loafers from Sebago and Paraboot, boots from Sebago and Sperry. Accessories feature hats, belts, and socks.

The three schools of the selection

The selection revolves around three schools. American workwear and heritage with Carhartt WIP, Filson, Chesapeake's, and Sebago: Filson was founded in 1897, Sebago in 1946. Japanese denim with Edwin, established in 1947. British and European brands, such as Universal Works (2009) and Paraboot (1908). Premium-casual Italian manufacturing with Bl'ker Vintage and Fortela.

What you will find among the new arrivals

Autumn arrivals are led by jackets. Next come knitwear, trousers, sneakers, and sweatshirts; followed by denim and t-shirts, hats and shirts, and finally loafers. Carhartt WIP accounts for the highest number of arrivals, ahead of Sebago, Chesapeake's, Bl'ker Vintage, and Universal Works.

For several brands, the full range offered is new for the season: among them Universal Works, Filson, Edwin, Aiburai, Heskimo, and Sperry. Within footwear, the Acadia loafer by Sebago comes in multiple iterations, including Waxy Total Black and Suede Waxed Dk Brown; the Sawyer and Walker boots are also from Sebago. The Michael by Paraboot, in brown and black, is a carryover model from previous collections: newly added to inventory, yet not a new design.

      How to choose

      Starting from the missing garment

In our Formia store, we recommend starting from the piece missing from your wardrobe rather than the newest arrival. Curating collections for our clientele since 2016, our advice remains constant: first utility, then brand, then arrival date.

      Fit and layering

Regular, loose, and slim describe the silhouette of the garment, not the size: the same size drapes differently across brands, requiring measurement comparison before selecting. For outerwear, consider the number of underlying layers; for trousers, evaluate the leg cut, not just the waist.

      Brand and price range

The brand is chosen based on tradition: Carhartt WIP, Filson, or Chesapeake's for American workwear, Edwin for Japanese denim, Universal Works for British design, Bl'ker Vintage or Fortela for Italian manufacturing. The selection covers accessible, mid-range, and high-end tiers: Sebago sits in the mid-range tier, Paraboot in the high-end tier. Updated prices for each item are displayed on the grid.

      New design or carryover model

A carryover model and a new design are equally valid choices. For a garment built to last, construction matters more than arrival date: review the product details for materials and construction before checking the date.

      FAQ

What is meant by new arrivals?

Items added to the catalog since the start of the current season. These can be new designs or carryover models from previous collections, such as the Michael by Paraboot: the addition date changes, not the model.

Are all items on the page from the current season?

No. Most are. The remainder consists of garments from previous seasons still available, carryovers, or remaining stock.

Loafer or boot: how to decide?

The loafer leaves the ankle exposed and is worn while weather remains mild; the boot covers the ankle and takes over as temperatures drop. Sebago offers both, with the Acadia and the Walker, in the mid-range tier. The Michael by Paraboot, a loafer, sits in the high-end tier.

How to choose a jacket size?

Try it on over the heaviest sweater to be worn underneath, checking shoulder alignment first, then sleeve length. Available sizes for each item are listed on the product page.
